When a flagpole is built it is automatically registered in our system. It allows us to keep track of who owns each base on the map. This information is not visible to any players until an alert is triggered. When a player that is not the owner of the base and not a member of the base an alert will be triggered and announced by the Bot when the alert criteria is met. The alert notifies anyone that is monitoring the channel who triggered the alert and who owns the base. Types of alerts: 1) Base Proximity Alerts - when an unauthorized player's location is within the trigger radius of the base, an alert will be triggered. The alerts will be repeated for as long as the unauthorized player is within that vicinity. The trigger radius varies and is not published. 2) Flag Lowered Alerts - when an unauthorized player lowers a flag. Definitions: 1) Base Owner - the player who built the flagpole. 2) Base Member(s) - other players that are allowed to be near the base and allowed to raise/lower the flag. 3 Trusted Player - some players are identified as "trusted" in the system which means that they will never trigger proximity alerts or flag lowering alerts. These are generally well known and long-time members of the community. Although base flags are automatically registered, the alerts for that base are NOT enabled by default. That is because players sometimes build multiple flagpoles until they find the best location. Alerts are not enabled to avoid false alerts. If you would like to have alerts enabled for your base let an admin know and it will be enabled. Also provide a list of base members. If you see alerts in the Bot channel for a player that SHOULD be allowed near a base, it is because the system is not aware that the player is a member and must be manually added by an admin.
